Hey there! Welcome to the site! My name is Jacob Schwitzer and I'm a Native American Game Designer with a B.S. Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin - Stout.
I currently work for Nebraska Public Media as a software developer focused on XR applications. My current project with them is Menominee Homecoming, a narrative-based 3D adventure game that's currently in development. You can look at my previous work for them: Expedition Nebraska, a 2023 Webby Award Official Honoree that's been released for WebGL, Mobile devices, and VR.

In the past, I've worked with Penn State and the College of Menominee Nation on the Visualizing Forest Futures Project. My role was to help film and edit 360-degree videos, conduct phenology and biodiversity research in the Menominee Reservation Forest, and create a Virtual Reality app in Unity that helps teach the research to non-experts.

I've also worked on many video games during my college years, one of which being my senior capstone project Shepherd's Sky, a 3D game made where you play as a shepherd who goes looking for his lost sheep. The gameplay consists of floating by a balloon over a canyon to fish your sheep up into the air. My role in this project was as a gameplay programmer, focusing on the fishing, throwing, and targeting mechanics and how they interact with the world. I also worked on the unified controller input scheme. You can download Shepherd's Sky here.
